EAACI Advocacy: Celebrating World Children's Day 2021
23007m3Share
On the occasion of World Children's Day on 20 November 2021 and right after our fruitful Pediatric Allergy and Asthma Meeting (PAAM) 2021 we would like to raise awareness together again on the topic of pediatric allergic diseases and asthma.
The burden of these diseases in children has been significantly increasing during the last years, among other reasons due to differences in lifestyles, age of food introduction and industrialization. Allergy is a multi‐system disorder, and children often have several co‐existing diseases, i.e. allergic rhinitis, asthma, eczema and food allergy. 2021
These diseases can be debilitating or even life-threatening, and impact multiple aspects of daily life: school, travel, dining, sleeping, socialising etc. Families of allergic children and children themselves often face anxiety and stress and need to adapt to diagnoses, management and treatment.
A cooperative partnership between doctors, community and school nurses, school staff, parents, and the child is necessary to ensure allergic children are protected.
Our EAACI experts would like to share some messages with you on this very important day for our future generations.
