  • Overview of the epidemiology including geographical differences and pholcodine hypothesis
  • Clinical presentations and differential diagnoses of perioperative hypersensitivity
  • Common triggers with special focus on antibiotics and NMBAs, including cross reactivity
  • Hidden allergens in perioperative setting including chlorhexidine, excipients, blue dyes, ethylene oxide
  • Investigations, with special emphasis on the advantages and limitations of individual test methods covering in detail: in vitro tests, skin testing and drug provocation
  • What to do when testing is negative
  • Key lessons from UK NAP6 Audit
  • Presentation of recent guidelines on the management of perioperative hypersensitivity for both allergists (EAACI position paper) and anaesthesiologists (BJA collaboration)
