We mourn the loss of our colleague and friend Dimitris Kalogeromitros, who passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, 6 April 2011.
Dimitris was a wonderful friend and a talented scientist, Head of Allergology at the Attikon Hospital of the University of Athens, where he established a model Allergy unit, for clinical care, research and training. He was also Guest Professor at the Allergy-Centre-Charite in Berlin, and enthusiastic volunteer for the European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation (ECARF) based at the Charite, for which he took on the role of “Ambassador” to Greece.

Dimitris’ creativity and enthusiasm were coupled with exceptional organizational skills. His impact in our organizations will be lasting.  We were shocked and deeply saddened to hear of his death.  We will miss him immensely.

He is survived by his wife, Amalia, and two sons, Minos and Christos. We share their pain at this sad time.
