"Mouse Models of Allergy and Asthma"
26-30 March 2006, Antalya, TURKEY

The first EAACI & GA2LEN summer school of 2006 entitled ‘Mouse Models of Allergy and Asthma’ organized by Prof. Dr. Isil Barlan and Prof. Dr. Jan Lötvall and supported by “Turkish National Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology’ was held in Antalya, Turkey between 26-30 March. A total of 84 participants from 16 countries participated in the course.

After a vigorous review of scientific abstracts, 30 EAACI junior members from 12 countries were accepted and given a full grant comprising of registration fee, full board accommodation and travelling expenses. Turkish National Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology provided grants to 15 Turkish scientists.

Twenty international lecturers who participated in the summer school gave morning and afternoon session lectures at six different panels.
Moreover, a total of 35 scientific abstracts were presented orally and debated during the poster session with a full participation.

Antalya summer school was held at World of Wonders-Topkapi Palace hotel situated at Kundu province, Antalya.

The course started with “Welcome Reception” party on the evening of 26 March 2006. On the evening of 27th March 2006, Beach volleyball tournament was held with the participation of four teams.

On 28th March 2006, after the lecture sessions, a guided tour was organized to visit an antique theatre ‘Aspendos’.

The night was ended in a fish restaurant in the old city along the port of Antalya.

Finally, the meeting ended with the ‘Total Solar Eclipse’ which was viewed with joys and cheers at the beachside of Mediterranean Sea.
